Our investment philosophy centers on our belief in a high level of market efficiency. We believe current prices reflect the knowledge and expectations of all investors. Though prices are not always correct (rational), markets are so competitive that it is unlikely any single investor can routinely profit at the expense of all other investors.

The majority of money managers believe they can exploit "mispricings" so they engage in traditional active management. Our investment approach centers around a passive strategy that seeks to capture the return of a globally diversified set of asset classes. The benefits of a passive strategy include; low transaction costs, diversification, low turnover, tax efficiency and the ability to capture specific dimensions of risk identified by academic research.

Client investment portfolios are designed and managed to meet the particular needs of each individual. In addition to passively managed funds, MCM utilizes various fixed income securities including; tax-free municipal bonds, inflation-indexed bonds (TIPS), government and agency bonds and other interest bearing vehicles. Factors such as age, occupation, income, taxes, risk tolerance (ability, willingness and need for risk) and total asset allocation are considered.
